I was a bad Nee Nee!

Not only did I forget to do the Favorite Foto Friday, can you believe I didn't take ONE SINGE PICTURE on Thanksgiving day? I know! I should be fired as an auntie. Thankfully Aunt Susie took a few, but I do not have them. At least they will fill an album someday, maybe! lol I guess preparing food took the priority on turkey day. I WILL NOT make that mistake again, mark my words!!!! Here are a few from last week. They will have to do until I take a few more!!!

Dylan on his way back home from Susie's one evening..... he slept through the snow!

Dylan and Grammy---Dylan is wearing his "Octopus" shirt that is SOOO fitting to his squiggly self!

Nee Nee and Dylan flipping and flopping in the living room floor! He cackles out loud when I do this!

Getting ready to go visit Aunt Susie & Uncle Troy. He has on a onesie, two layers, and an over coat still to go! He cannot move in his "bye bye" getup!

He would rather play with his walker than play in it. At least on the carpet. He really moves it on the hard floor, though!

Big Shoes To Fill

Everyone that knows my family and knew my Papaw Everette knew he was a very special man. He lived a long, full life and did everything from coal mining and gas company work to farming. Big emphasis on farming. Out front, out back, to the side. Every window you looked out at my Granny & Papaw's house had a beautiful view: home grown veggies and fruit trees. He would take brown baggies of what I always called "tommy toes" to the folks at church, and a little bit of everything else, too. My Granny would can, freeze, and dry various things, but nothing compared to her corn. Anyway, I am getting off track here. Well, my Papaw had a very lovely tractor for all this hard work, but it was in some desperate need of repair. My Uncle Troy has worked very hard lately to restore it, and has succeeded in making it run again. I think he has a little painting or something he plans to finish in warmer weather. He drove it over to the old garden behind Granny & Papaw's / Aunt Willie's house and did a little work. Aunt Susie took Dylan out for a little photo shoot with Uncle Troy on the tractor. So, get out your tissues Aunt Willie, and have a look below.

He is really enjoying himself!

Battle with the Teething Cookie

It was war at our house last night: Dylan vs. the teething cookie. Let me tell you, Dylan had this one right from the start.

"Mmmmmm, this is good!"

"Would you like a bite?"

"Now where did I put that cookie?"

"All gone, see????"

"Show's over, folks...... "

Favorite Foto Friday - For Crying Out Loud

This weeks Favorite Foto Friday theme is "For Crying Out Loud." This one was easy! Although Dylan is now more of a "whiner" or a "screamer" instead of a "crier," I have a few favorites to fall back on! As you can tell, as sweet and as lovable as he is, he is just as much a cry baby! He gets really mad, really fast. He is learning the fine art of throwing a fit to get what he wants!

Oh, yes. One more thing to report. As his 9th month approaches on the 26th, he reached another milestone last night! He took two steps on his own! He did it several times last night, and again visiting Uncle Troy and Susie. Still just the two steps, but I am sure it wont be long until more steps are added! Katie bar the door!

On to the photos!

Here is a very brief video showing off Dylan's new tooth. He rarely smiles on cue, but it worked out great for this shot. He has so much energy and is really learning so many new things every day. We have had to put up a gate (thank you Brenda C.) between the living room and kitchen to help corral him. Poppy had to rewire everything on computer and put all the cords behind the desk instead of some poking out at our feet. In Dylan's defense, that needed done anyway. So now he has focused all his "love" towards the mouse and keyboard. He is constantly pulling them down. Even as I type now! LOL Next on our "to do" list is move Grammy's table on the back wall. He ate his first crumble of doggie treat today. He didn't really love it, but he would never admit it! Dylan & Sugar's relationship is still a work in progress. Dylan works hard to get to Sugar, our Chihuahua, and she then progresses to higher ground. He is just afraid of her as much as he is enthralled by her. She is just annoyed by him! Oh, well. Perhaps a golden retriever or collie is in Dylan's doggy future. We shall see. Let's see, oh yes... Dylan is also starting to let go of the couch, chair, etc, and tries to just walk, but he hasn't actually taken a step. He has stood alone unassisted for several seconds. It won't be long til he is walking. Well, I guess that is all for this update! Check out the video and the pics below!

Fixing his hair before church. Check out those curls!!

Favorite Foto Friday - Kisses

This weeks theme for Favorite Foto Friday is Blowing Kisses, but Dylan hasn't got that feat down yet. So, here is what we lovingly refer to as his "Aunt Verlie Face" which is the closest thing he does to puckering. He kissed Grammy and made is "smack" last night for the first time! He is a taker and not a giver when it comes to the kisses. He will give out some sugar occasionally, but he would rather us plant them on him!

Guess What??????

Guess what Nee Nee Lisa found Saturday morning at about 3 a.m.???

DYLAN'S FIRST TOOTH IS COMING THROUGH!!!!!!!!!!

I was WAY more excited than him about it too! LOL He would not open his mouth and let me see after the initial "discovery" either! I could feel it because he loves to bite on fingers, but I had to wait until he was asleep to get a really good look at it. I tried to get a picture of it the next morning while I was feeding him lunch, but it didn't work! I did get a couple of really cute pictures.

So today, after church at Pizza Hut, we ran into some close friends. Dylan was knocked out, so we had our friend take a picture of his tooth while he slept! (We didn't have our camera, she did.) So as soon as she posts them on her myspace, I will update the post with it! We probably looked weird holding open his mouth and taking a picture, but we didn't care! We wanted that picture!

Favorite Foto Friday #64 - Favorite Family Foto

Okay, so my Favorite Family Foto is a bit unusual. Back in June, we had a family reunion. My Great-Aunt Deane was there, along with my now passed on cousin Nelly. It was a wonderful day, and we got alot of good pics. However, my cousins Sharon and Tonette could not be with us, and they were the only 2 females missing from the picture. So, using a little generic photo shopping, I added them! (To the best of my non-existant photo editing skills, I might add.) So here we are, from left to right! lol

Aunt Susie, Grammy Rosemary, Amy, Dylan, Sissy Sharon, Lisa, Tonette, and Aunt Willie. Seated, Nelly and Aunt Deane

Update on Dylan

Sorry it took so long to update Dylan's condition. He is back home from the doctor and asleep in Poppy's arms. His doctor gave him 10 days of antibiotics and Claritin, just "in case" it's allergies. Duh. She still wouldn't admit that allergies was a possibility. "They" now say kids can't get allergies until they are 2 years old. Anyway, thank God they gave him something. He is resting okay, but has been getting choked up.

Speaking of choked up, I am trying to remain hopeful watching the election results. So far it is WAY to early to tell anything. I just hope America didn't buy the horse-and-pony show for "change." They will be in for a RUDE awakening of what that change will be, in my opinion. Well, I don't want to get all political, that is not what this blog is about. I just hope everyone prayed and searched what God would want them to do. If they did that, that is all anyone can ask. Good nite all.

Prayer Request for Dylan (and us, too)

Please keep our sweet baby Dylan in your prayers. His nose is running like a sugar tree and he has a really bad cough that sounds like it shakes him to his core when he takes a coughing spell. He takes these "spells" that last from a few seconds to a couple minutes when it sounds like he can hardly catch his breath. He will be going to the doctor tomorrow. Please pray they will do something productive. So far, his doctors wait until he is in pretty bad shape, with a cold or allergies, before they give any medicine or anything. "Cool mist vaporizer, nasal spray & aspirator." Which we do, but with very little apparent results. Since all the medicine changes for infants and children, you really don't know what to do. For all of those who do not know us, we live in a VERY rural area, and the "best" hospital is at least a 1 1/2 hour drive, if there is no traffic or cops! We are trying to keep from changing doctors because they work with Cabell Huntington Hospital, the best for children in the tri-state. The 'actual' CHH University Pediatrics do not take his medical card (of course) so we go to Valley Health, also located in Huntington. Also an 1 1/2 hours drive. We have been told that Paintsville Pediatrics (a mere 1 hour drive in the opposite direction) will also work with Cabell, so we may have to look into that, but we hate to because of the distance between Paintsville and Huntington. Not for us, we will travel wherever we have to, but because of the doctors. Will his "new" doctor really travel to Huntington to treat him, do they have doctors there all the time, or will he get stuck with whoever is available at Cabell. Or should we just give him some moonshine in a sippy cup? JUST JOKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!Please keep us in your prayers that his Momma and Grammy can make the right decisions for him, and that his doctors will be helpful to our little guy. His doctors are very nice, and seem very qualified, but their hands seem to be tied by all these medicine warnings and such. We obviously don't want to over-medicate him or give him medicine unnecessarily. We just want him well. We ALL have allergies, and he seems to be following in our footsteps, but has been doing great since ragweed went out of season, so this cough is really bothering me. He has been asleep for almost 4 hours (it is now 1:10 am our time) and usually he has just been asleep an hour, TOPS. He has been kinda moaning in his sleep, so you know he isn't feeling well. But no temperature, thank God. We ALL have been sick, so please keep us in your prayers! I will update on Dylan's condition as soon as anything changes.
