Dylan's First Christmas

We all managed to survive enjoy Dylan's first Christmas without any problems whatsoever! Or so we thought......... Anyway, he of course had no clue what was going on, but still enjoyed the new toy part quite a bit. His Momma and I gave him his presents from us on Christmas Eve, before Aunt Willie & Tonette got in, so Dylan wouldn't be so overwhelmed by new things on Christmas Day. (Actually, we are just like little kids ourselves, and couldn't wait, but that sounded like a good reason, right?) Dylan had been to see his Daddy at his Grandma Shar's that morning and got to visit with his cousins Ryan, Brady & Caleb. Christmas Eve night, we all (with the exception of Aunt Willie & Tonette, of course) gathered at our house to eat snacks and goodies and let Dylan open his stocking presents and the ones from us. So far we can get by with that since he has no concept of "Santa Claus" and when he makes his runs. Or even what a stocking is except it was hanging on the wall and his "Meanie Nee Nee" wouldn't give it to him to play with. Oh well. He managed. Aunt Willie and Tonette made it in record time on Christmas day. Here are the pictures from Christmas day, well, Christmas night actually, long story... I have pictures of him getting his stuff from us and his new Fisher Price pony thing to put on later. They are on the other camera... another long boring story as to why that is. lol

Aunt Willie handing Dylan his present.
A beautiful "First Christmas" ornament from Aunt Susie
"Poppy, you can keep that other stuff, just give me the hanger, okay?"
"Same goes for you, too, Nee Nee."
Loving his wrist rattle from Sissy Sharon.

Poppy Dylan opening presents.
"Hey, I like this bag-thingy!"
Aunt Willie with her Dylan-cube for her desk at work.
Susie opening her and Uncle Troy's Dylan snow globe for Uncle Troy's desk.
Dylan and Aunt Susie too pooped to pop.

Little did we know that our little fella was getting really, really sick. Looking back at a few of those pictures, it is visible in his eyes. We thought he was just tired from all the running around. He has a terrible cough and infection in both ears. I think I mentioned that in an earlier post. Can't remember. After that, things became a blur of events! Aunt Willie's "red car-car" went berserk and the horn wouldn't stop honking, you know, the thing she had FIXED the day before, or so she thought, then she thought she had a break in later at her house, so we called in the neighborhood watch system, LOL, AKA Grammy, Poppy, Chester and Smith & Western, Wesson, or whatever lol, plus Chester's big truck is "having issues" for lack of better words, and Dylan had a temp topping off at 102.2 and was lying around and moaning. Grammy and Momma had to go all the way to LOUISA WALMART at 2 am to get Infant's tylenol. "Um, Hello, Jim Booth, Owner of like 5,000 Fast Lane's, Good item to keep in stock is INFANT BLESSED TYLENOL!!!!!!!!!" Now we have 15 bottles, if anyone needs some. Just kidding............. slightly. Anyway, yeah, we get it. Christmas is OVER! lol Hope next Christmas is just plain ole boring! At least we hope the neighborhood watch won't be needed!
...............And to all a good night..........

Hopefully tonight......

Okay, Okay, I know I haven't updated in almost a week.... things have been a little busy. Hopefully tonight I will get at least partly caught up on everything. Depends on Mr. Dylan. Who by the way has terrible ear infections in BOTH ears. Part of the no-blog-updates-problem, too. He is doing some better now, he is actually in the floor playing a little as I type. I am going to eat something now, so hope to post more later.

Giddy Up!

As promised, here are some more pictures of Dylan and his beloved Trigger.

It looks like he is kissing it, but he is really trying to bite/chew on a little tiny plastic piece that sticks up, like perhaps where the mold of the horse came together.

Here he is clicking his tongue like he is calling his horse!

"Hey, Nee Nee, check out my skills!"

"What? I have to get off now?"

"Pshew... I knew you were just joking!"

Can you tell he likes Trigger?

P.S. From Dylan: HURRY HOME AUNT WILLIE & TONETTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I MISS YOU!!!!

Busy Busy Week....

We had a busy, busy week last week, and it wasn't even Christmas week! It was Amy's 22nd birthday, our church's Christmas Choir, practices leading up to said performance, we had shopping to do, doctors appointments to go to & I "put up" our tree. Plus I am probably forgetting a few things.... oh yeah, Grammy's party at work. Shew, no wonder I am still tired and my legs are still hurting! Here are plenty of pictures to document the week!

Amy's snowman cake, made by her loving, most favorite sister of all... the only one, ME! LOL

Dylan and Aunt Susie @ the Christmas Choir. He must have heard a bad note!
Now we must be doing better!
Several people gave their lives to the Lord that night! It was wonderful. This is a mother and son both coming to the Lord.
Here is Ralph (Oh how we miss you at SCC), and Lowella praying with Kay's grand-daughter Kaylee. And of course her cousin Lillian Kay praying with her. Kaylee accepted the Lord that night also!

This is my long time friend Jamie B. and her youngest daughter Jaycee. Jamie is Kaylee's mother. I didn't get a picture of the middle daughter, Holly. Dylan was really interested in Jaycee. He loved her hair, and wanted to take her pacifier, even though he gave his up already!

I believe we have a climber on our hands. He made it up on the old bread box, but couldn't figure out how to get down!

I know a 2" climb isn't that great of a feat, but he also climbs on his firetruck seat as well. With NO PROBLEM until it starts rolling, that is!

Here is our oh so lovely Christmas tree this year! LOL We didn't bother with a real one because Dylan is into everything as it is. He loves all the bright colors and tries to reach the "ornaments" and "presents!"

Well, I guess that is all for now. I have a couple new pictures of Dylan on Trigger that I will post later. He is really loving his Trigger!

Curls, Curls, Curls

Dylan's hair is getting curlier by the day, it seems. It used to just be curly when it was wet or he was sweaty, but now it is pretty much curly (in the back, at least) all the time. Here are a few pics showing off his curls. Even though he is just out of the bath, his hair is dry.

Even though he is sitting beside the sink, he no longer fits there so he has to take a bath like a big boy!

Look at that adorable "pruned" foot!

Favorite Foto Friday - "MERY CHRISTMAS" - LOL

To me, NOTHING says Christmas like an old fashion Christmas play with toddlers misspelling words and fighting over who gets to hold what letter and who can hold it the highest. I myself held one of these letters many moons ago, and can't wait until Dylan gets to hold one for himself. I love the little belly of the holder of "M"... too cute! And of course the little girl and boy fighting over the "A." You can't tell so much in the picture, but there was quite a battle over that one! And poor little Cody (all the way to the right in the green jumpsuit) just gave up and let Nevaeh hold the last "S" all by her self. And of course what display is complete without the puppet miestro? Notice him on the little piano over the boy in the red sweatshirt? How cute is that? He was "playing" the music for their song.

Lillian Kay (far right), my friends daughter, and some other girls singing "Jingle Bells"

"Nee Nee, I said Give me that camera!"

Still not scared, but still no smile..... grrrrr

Oh, well, at least he isn't screaming!

The Newest Addition To Our Family

The newest addition to our lovely little family..............

Trigger!

Poppy found this lovely little horse from his friend Walter that he flea markets with. At first, Poppy wasn't going to buy it, but Nee Nee insisted he buy it ... umm, I mean I talked him into buying it. Boy, he is sure glad he did! Dylan has developed a new love like never before! He doesn't know whether to push it around or bounce on it. He loves to do both. Trigger was the name of Poppy's horse he had a long time ago, back when he first married Grammy.

"Hmmm... I think I like this......."

"Yep, I believe I do! Wooo hooo!"

"Going.........

..........Going.............

.............GONE!!!!!!!!!"

"Dear Lord, Please help me to not fall off Trigger again.... Thanks."

"Poppy, you already had your Trigger, this one is MINE!"

Thank God for "track this order"

Okay, for all of you who knows me, you know I would NEVER NEVER NEVER be caught dead with not at least a little make up, an attempt at a hair do, or decent looking clothes, right? Well, I am fixing up 'Christmas' at my house today while everyone is gone, so I look like a 3 year old on some major steroids. I have on flowery shorts and matching shirt that looks like a Garanimals outfit, no socks, shoes, etc., of course cause I am inside and it is hot as Hades in here, (but Sugar is warm, Thank goodness, lol) and PIGTAILS. Yes, Pigtails. I am having "hair issues" that will be taken care of on Friday, thank you Misty W., BEFORE our church's Christmas singing. Anyway, why is all this important, you ask? I just checked on the progress of Dylan's fisher price pony thingy we ordered him for Christmas, and it is ON IT'S WAY from Prestonsburg, KY and will be here in possibly less than 30 minutes via UPS. Yeah, so I would have HAD to answer the door and not hide from the ups man, looking like a all-grown-up-and-something-bad-went-wrong version of the little girl on the Grinch stole Christmas. Yeah. At least I go to counseling tomorrow, so I could have recovered in time for Christmas, lol, but now I don't have to.... anyway, enough time wasted and I am off to at least comb my hair and put on some pants.....

Snow Day - Part 2

Here was the actual reason for my day around the neighborhood (in flip flops and shorts), some shots of the snow scenes. The snow was wet and heavy, and hung on the tree branches long into the day. We really didn't get but about 2 inches, but in some places it looks like more.

The mountain in front of our house.

^The Kentucky Hills ^

^The West Virginia Hills ^
(Behind our house. Separated by the river, of course.)
I am jealous, lol, their trees look prettier! My Granny always sang a song about those 'beautiful West Virginia hills.' Mom just said "Aunt Willie will cry again if you put that about the song!"
Here is all that is left of the old Chestnut tree. My Granny finally won the battle and the tree came down. The tree may be gone, but the memories of digging out the spiky things from the chestnuts will forever be "embedded" (ha ha) in my mind. I thought the stump looked very pretty with the snow piled up on it.

I saved the 'best for last.' Our beautiful old barn. It was here when my Papaw and Granny moved here. There is now a (actually very very) small fire hydrant in front of it (thanks a lot stupid fire department, like it couldn't have gone 100 foot down the road) but I edited it out of the photo. It actually isn't very big at all, I just wish it wasn't there at all!
Well, it is now 12:33 and Dylan is still going strong! Hopefully he will wind down very soon, 'cause all his people sure are very tired!

Snow Day - Finally!

I don't know what you all believe about the full moon and its affects on animals (and people, for that matter), but I am a firm believer that something weird happens around the time that the full moon rolls around. Some might would blame it on the snow we had today, but I know our animals, and let me tell you, they were plum bonkers today! According to Yahoo! I think tonight is the biggest full moon in so long, or ever, or something LOL and it was like the Wild Kingdom here today. There were cats jumping off banisters, running in the fence, out of the fence, in the fence, you get the idea. Doggies howling even when Susie wasn't on her way over here with treats for them. As you can tell from this first picture, in just a short while our porch had about one hundred sets of paw prints ALL over it! It was quite comical. The front yard looked very similar, too!

And here is Dutchess soaking up the rays, I mean flakes! Here she is laying on the porch like it is a beautiful, sunny day!
Here is Autumn, who usually is calm. She was ALL over the place too! She had been trying to eat that little piece of doggy treat in front of her, too. Unsuccessfully, I might add.

Here is a collage of Carmen. She was lurking around, trying to walk on TOP of the snow, instead of sink into it. I didn't know what she was trying to at the fence at first, but then I figured it out......

She was making SNOWBALLS!!!! Have you ever saw a cat make snowballs? She made some the last snow too, but I didn't get pictures.

Here is Buddy, our bouncing Pomeranian. And if you look really close in the reflection of the door, you can see the craziest 'animal' of them all, ME out in 20 degree weather with shorts and FLIP FLOPS on! Hey, at least I had on a coat!

In case I am very ill in a few days, I can't blame it on anything but wet feet!

P.S. I also have pictures of our cat Gracie trying to get into the washing machine but I haven't downloaded them yet. I guess inside animals still act out on the full moon!
