Tell Me Thursday

Welcome to Tell Me Thursday!

Here is my Wordless Wednesday picture:

This is the picture "un-zoomed."

And yes, Cuzzin Robin, you did spy something blue with your little eyes! That was the blue marker Dylan got on his hands making his first VBS craft!

This is Dylan's "new" thing to do:

This is Dylan getting in trouble for doing his "new" thing!

What is so bad about his "new" thing, you ask? Well, this is the back view.

Not only do we have a safety issue (you know, falling off, jumping off, etc.) we have other issues as well. He likes to mess with the "Home Sweet Home" clock and Mamaw Virgie's picture....

This is our little replica of our sweet kitty Amber who is no longer with us. I painted this little figurine and we keep it in HER window where she always slept. She is so alluring to Dylan, he cannot resist to climb up and get her. So she had to be moved.

And he loves this little fireman snowman. Well, he actually loves the tiny little bell that hangs off the hat of the fireman snowman. He had to go also. We also had to move the phone cords, wrapping them oh-so-lovely around the spoke in the window so Dylan doesn't have enough slack to injure himself. He does, however, unplug the phone sometimes.

See, here he is checking on Amber.

"Why can't I play with her?" Dylan wonders. And that, my friends, is the mystery behind my Wordless Wednesday picture.

VBS Fun!

WARNING! PICTURE OVERLOAD!

I thought about breaking this last VBS post up into a couple of posts, but I decided just to do a little narrating and put it all in one. Here goes.

Momma with Dylan getting his first Vacation Bible School certificate and T Shirt!

Outside for fun and games! Dylan waiting not-so-patiently for his turn.

"Tossing" in the bean bags!
Not wanting to wait for his prize!
Jacob's turn next!
Dylan just itching to get in all that dirt! (Our church is dozing and remodeling our "back yard")
Chloe with her prize. Dylan LOVED her shoes!
Dylan waiting for his turn with the duck pond.
What's a good VBS carnival with out the fishing pole prize game?
Adam loading Cody up a prize.
Cody caught a big one!
Sarah tossing some water balls in the bucket.
Dylan (not so over-joyously) knocking over some pop cans with a bean bag.
Yeah! Clap for Dylan!
Hot dogs, anyone?
Kaleb & Isabella running in the dirt!
Jacob and Dylan getting dinner sitting on the down stairs air conditioner unit! LOL
Doesn't Jacob look thrilled about his table for the evening?
And the same goes for Dylan!
Sack race time! (See the lovely bull dozer thing!)
The kids were loving it. They were so dusty!
Time to clean up. Adam begrudgingly carrying stuff up the back stairs to the kitchen.
The teens were wonderful that night. They ran the games AND helped clean up!
Dylan taking it all in.
Notice the ducky from the duck pond? He just happened to find one laying around!
Adam giving Dylan the advice to stay young so you don't have to carry tables up the steps!
Our VBS was a success this year, with each night topping over 100 total in attendance. No ambulances or firetrucks were required, either, so that is also a definite plus! Can't wait til next year.

VBS Learning!

Drema and Derrek were Dylan's teachers at VBS. Didn't Derrek do a fabulous job with the room decorations?

Brandi & I just held Dylan and Jacob in our laps for the first part of story time this night since the table was so full and the boys just ate their papers anyway!

Dylan LOVED the froggy puppet! He gave it a hug!

That is Derrek, almost! He is so tall I didn't get all of him in the picture.

Derrek made this 'air bubble' for the kids to get in. He did this at something the WV school system hosts called Teen Institute, where they learn a variety of things.

The carnival tent where the kids would pick out their nightly treats from a bag.

The Ferris wheel. I meant to go back and get a better picture of it, but forgot about it on that last night.

Time to dance! This was the dance room.

Singing "Be careful little eyes what you see....." with Lowella.

Dylan is shadowing Kaleb!

All the kids had a blast and I think things went pretty smoothly. Each group moved from class to class instead of just doing everything in one room like we used to do when I was little! They have been doing it this way for a while now, and I don't know why we didn't think of it sooner. Each group does basically the same thing X amount of times instead of one teacher doing all the things they do upstairs: story, dance, snack, crafts, etc. Stay tuned for the last set of VBS pictures!

Not Me Monday!

Please keep baby Stellan in your prayers. He is having a serious rough go of things last I checked with his SVT. The next step would be putting him on a ventilator then my guess would be the other surgery they are wanting to hold off until he is older and his body has a better chance of handling it well. Go HERE for more details from the blog or HERE for MckMama's Tweets.

On to the "Not Me" part!

While undressing Dylan from his play clothes to get ready for a bath, a Cheerio fell out of his clothes. Who knows how long it had been there or what he had rolled in since it had been! Grammy DID NOT let Dylan eat the Cheerio anyway, saying "Oh, well!" We are most sanitary and would never do such a thing as that in our household.

Grammy & Dylan went to church with Susie & Uncle Troy this past Tuesday, and Dylan did not yell for Uncle Troy the ENTIRE time he conducted service! Dylan is perfectly well behaved in church and would never yell and scream.

We did not all go to Susie & Uncle Troy's church today for their annual homecoming. I did not eat enough glorified hash browns to be ashamed of. Dylan did not think every one there was purely for his entertainment purpose only and wave and say "Hi!" to everyone!

I was not lazy last week during VBS and not fix my hair like I usually do and go with the "just blow dried and slightly fluffed" look because it was just 100 kids going bonkers anyway. I am way too concerned about my hair style to do such a thing as that.

I am not getting my hair cut tomorrow so I can go with the "just blow dried and slightly fluffed" look and make it look like a 'spiky' style in the back and more stylish for church camp, where it will be hot and muggy and humid, and I won't have to worry about fixing my hair so much. Not me. That would sound vain.

I am not leaving Dylan AGAIN from late Thursday til Saturday night to go to said church camp. I cannot stand to be away from Dylan for long periods of time. But they wont let me take him with me (for real) so they are coming to drop me off Thursday and get me on Saturday, so that will have to do.

I am not dreading the muggy, humid, hot weather that goes with church camp. (But I AM praying for cool days, NO RAIN, no other disasters, etc, and I know we will have a blast.)
I am not scheduling all my posts for the last part of the week and hope they all show up as planned. Sometimes my scheduled posts work, sometimes they don't. Beats me, I do it the same every stinking time. So if there are no posts from late Wednesday to Thursday til Sunday or Monday, I WILL be back.

That wraps me up for today. Happy Monday everyone, and don't forget to pray for Stellan!
