We all load up and head for the hills for 4 days.
This year it was particularly hot and slightly dry
but that didn't stop the craw-dad experience one little iota.
Nope. Not at all.
See?
Dylan picked out a bunk for which to place his lovely new sheets on
and actually spent his first night ever at church camp!
He also went for a super fun ride in his stroller with Cody, given by none other than Sarah Rachel, who is doing very well at the moment.
He was so excited he could barely look!
He met the love of his life (up to this point, anyway) Abby
and fell madly in love.
He wooed her for some major lovin's and pat-pat's
and we all "Oohed" and "Awwed" appropriately.
Then he went swimming in the big pool with Momma
looked oh-so-adorable in his new swimwear
and also hung out for a bit in the baby pool.
Aunt Susie and Uncle Troy came to visit one evening also.
Dylan was oh so wore out after swimming
but that didn't stop him from stealing Sonya's cheese crackers.
The big kids played corn hole
much to the boredom of Cullen.
We had hula contests
and more swimming to do as well.
Didn't he look so adorable?
Then it was time for the big Pixie Stix vs. Mean Machine game the kids play every year.
Cullen throwing some love out to the sidelines.
Dylan is on the side lines for now, but watch out cause football runs deep through his veins.
Will he be a tough old Mean Machine player, or will he help the girls out in their moment of distress and be a Pixie Stix quarterback like his cousin BJ and help save the day for them? We'll have to see!!!
We had daily devotionals at the shed.
The little ones actually behaved themselves!
Oh how I love this scrunched up face!
Some of the kids taking it all in.
Time for some more fun and games.
Then came the campfire
followed by skits and songs, like "Gray Squirrel" feature below:
Then we lit our candles one by one
and sang our way out of the forest, lifting our voices up in praise with the song of
"This Little Light Of Mine" which is a beautiful and fitting way to end the night every year.
That and some good old fashioned sleep.
Can't wait until next year!
