Here is my WW picture:
During the flood of Mothers Day weekend, I was coming back home from Susie's house, when something caught my eye under the porch banister.
It was so small, I thought it was fake at first.
It was a hummingbird! I was scared to death one of our cats had got ahold of it and hurt it. Grammy came out and picked it up.
We called for Animal Services Chester to come and get it to put it in a box/cage and nurse it back to health. (We couldn't keep it in the house because of Dylan, and we figured Gracie & Daylight might like a little brunch, so Sissy & Chester's house it is! You can see the flood water in the bottom corner of the picture.)
Well, about an hour later I called Chester to check up on the little humminbird.
Me: How is the bird?
Chester: I don't know.
Me: What do you mean you don't know?!?!
Chester: I didn't get the chance to ask it before it flew off!
Apparently, the little bird was just resting or perhaps addled, and all it needed was some rest time and it was ready to take off again! Oh, the drama of animals! (And the people who won't leave them alone!)
Happy Thursday Everyone!
Check out Tell Me Thursday here!

That made the second time in my life that I had had the rare chance to hold a hummer. You wouldn't believe how soft they are. Like velvet. And so light-weight you can hardly feel them. How anyone can see such a wonder and not believe in God is more than I can fatham. Good post NeeNee Love Grammy
Great story!!
Wow, What a fun experience! I have never seen a hummingbird up close! I bet that thing was really scared of the cats! My Tell Me Thursday is here.
Haha, I love Chester's reply!
Delightful story! I wasn't expecting it to be a hummingbird though. Thanks for stopping by my blog! Have a good weekend.
What a story. They are so small. Thanks for sharing.
I don't remember that happening. I was there that week end; how did I miss that?
What a cute story. Enjoyed the way you brought us along with additional photos. Glad to hear the bird was just resting....
Such beautiful little birds. We have a few here and are time stops when they fly by so we can just sit and watch them. How wonderful that you got to hold it and see it so close!
