This weeks at I Heart Faces they have two categories going: one for Sports in Action and one for Pets. I LOVE when they have a "Pets" category, because we have so many lovely furry friends around here!
Why, our lovely Dutchess, of course. I can't take a bad picture of her if I tried. She is so lovely. I love the shadow of the gate beside her. Perfect.
For my Sports picture, I chose the "Kids" category. This is one of my all time favorite pictures of my cousin BJ, who played for the Tolsia Rebels, a local high school, and was their absolute star athlete in school history. (I'm not just a bragging cousin, he's got stats to back me up!)
This was BJ's very last high school game, the state championship game. It was two schools from the same county, and the "fancy" school won, of course, even though we STOMPED them BOTH times we played them in regular season. It is PATHETIC that politics mess up HIGH SCHOOL football, but it does. THS has State Runner-up title, but we all know in our hearts we would have won that game had "the powers that be" stayed out of it. Welcome to the real world, boys, huh? Instead of "Congratulations."
Nuff ranting and raving. Even though I could really go on into further detail, I will spare you. I DO feel better with that much publicly off my chest.
Check out other entries for I Heart Faces here.
Happy Monday!

Wow, you'd think there'd be some things that would just be off limits to the "powers that be", kids being one of them. Sad that adults can't teach kids good sportsmanship, instead of teaching them that anything goes, as long as it means winning!
Excellent writing Nee Nee. Keep up the good work. I really enjoy your blog.
