Now, to most people, this will not be very exciting, but to us it is historical.
So where is this?
Well, yeah, the barn. But he has been there plenty. So where else did he go?
Where do these (much sturdier than they look) wooden stairs go?
Why, the hay loft of Papaw's barn, of course.
Being guided by his Uncle Troy, Dylan took his first trip through the barn loft.
Papaw and Granny would have been so proud.
He wasn't scared one bit.
Can't say the same for Susie! She wasn't too thrilled with this idea, even though she knew it was safe.
Okay, so maybe this particular climbing wasn't the smartest thing he could have done.....
or this... (he isn't as close to the edge as it seems. Tricky photography.)
But Little Boy Boy was enjoying himself SO much!
But, as the old saying goes, all good things must come to an end
And Dylan left with promises of coming back.
He even waved bye to his picture snapping Nee Nee.
Can you believe I went up there? Me neither! Only for pictures of Dylan in the loft would I do such a thing! :)

MOMMA AMY
What an awesome building for a little boy to have access to growing up! My boys would be in heaven!!!!
The barn loft is one place I would not have thought of but, of course, leave it to Uncle Troy (Dada) and Aunt Susie (DooDoo) to take the little boy, boy on a great adventure. These pictures are the first glimpse of the inside of the barn loft that I have seen in years - and I do mean years!
And, Nee Nee, thanks for being brave and going to take pictures of the little boy, boy for us and the rest of the bloggy world to enjoy. He looks like he really had a great time.
And, yes, you know, his Woo Woo was in tears before the last picture appeared. Thinking of all the time daddy (Papaw) and mother (Granny) spent in that old barn milking cows; tending to cows, calves, horses, chickens, rabbits and maybe some other stuff, too; putting up hay; cleaning and repairing; and whatever else goes on in a barn which is very much a part of country and farm life just sorta made me melancholy and tearful but it is a wonderful post and a great way to introduce Dylan to another part of his past that will one day be part of his future.
Yes, his (great) Papaw and Granny would have been so proud of this little one who has stolen all our hearts.
I guess I forgot to mention that it was also the first time (at least I can remember) that I myself was in the barn loft. I am quite sure it looked totally different while in use of the many animals and such it housed. There was no hay, which made me sad at first, then I thought, "That might lessen my chance at seeing some type of rodent" so that sad thought quickly went away! lol Since we have so many barn kitties, we thankfully don't have "barn friends" but you know there are always one or two hiding somewhere! Ughhhh... I shudder at the thought of it now! LOL Glad I was able to make it through it at the time!
Oh, and could he look any more like Papaw waving in that last picture? Almost spooky. Papaw waved JUST LIKE THAT.
Nee Nee, you are right. Daddy (Papaw) did wave like that but then we (who knew Papaw) and know Dylan also know that there is an awful lot of his great-grandfather in that little boy which endears him to us more than him just being himself. I have a feeling that the older he grows the more we are going to see Papaw especially as long as there is Poppy and Uncle Troy to guide him along in his pursuit of the farm and farm implements like the tractor and the barn and the riding mower............
Hi Lisa and everyone, The pictures are absolutley precious!!!!
